What was the creative process behind Garlic Junkie? What inspired the blend?
I love garlic as a flavor in cooking, and wanted to get a rub out there that was unique and different, but would be good on all proteins and vegetables. What emerged was Garlic Junkie—a rub that has gained a following of Junkies around the world!
How would you describe the flavor profiles of this blend?
Garlic Junkie is a great all-around blend. With a leading flavor of lots of garlic, it is strongly flavored but well-balanced. There’s lots of cracked peppercorns, some salt and other herbs and spices that make it a fan favorite.
How would you describe the aromatics of the blend?
This rub is super flavorful and unique. The takeaway is garlic and pepper, and it goes with everything.
What would be perfect foods to use this blend on?
We use Garlic Junkie on everything—from steak and chicken to roasted vegetables, salad or guacamole.
Is there a beer or wine or beverage that would pair well with the blend?
Because this blend goes with everything, it also can be paired well with any kind of beverage. But I love a nice glass of whiskey with a Garlic Junkie seasoned brisket.
Any other Spiceology products that would layer well with this blend?
I think Garlic Junkie could go well with most rubs. The flavors of Smoke Junkie really compliment the garlic in this blend, and creates an amazing crust on proteins.
Types of cuisine that fit particularly well with the blend?
Garlic Junkie can be amazing on anything—from avocado toast to eggs to salmon, give it a try on everything!
